Science Workshops

On 9 July, WAGC will be hosting Sue Breen, international presenter on giftedness in young children and founder of Small Poppies. Sue will be presenting on science for young gifted children. I can recommend Sue as both dynamic and down-to-earth, both knowledgable and practical. Here is an excerpt from our flyer:

10am – 12noon Sue’s very visual and interactive approach to the use of science activities is something she has developed into an art form, stimulating children’s thinking, language, reasoning and imagination. This hands-on workshop will open everyone’s eyes to new possibilities.

Who should attend? Families with preschoolers and children in their first few years at primary school and teachers interested in bringing science alive.

1.30pm – 3.30pm Aimed at early childhood and primary teachers (but parents are welcome to join in), this session will be your opportunity to discover the signs of giftedness in early childhood and find out how to cater for gifted children, particularly in formal education settings.

Free for members, with a modest charge for non-members. To book, telephone Louise on 07 856 9416, or e-mail waikatogifted@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
